Here at Stain Books our emphasis has always been on planning. We see this as maybe the #1 ingredient for any individual when it comes to ensuring success.
To planning we would also add ‘know your mission’. Knowing where you are going, how you are going to get there and when are key ingredients for any small business owner to consider.
Having a clear and concise vision is one thing-sticking to the Mission is also a key factor. Define your Mission statement early in your start-up process and always remember to re-visit that Mission Statement on a regular basis and if it becomes appropriate to amend the Mission Statement don’t hesitate to update it according to current circumstances.
Often it is only when you put a plan into action that you realize that some aspects may not be achievable and so you need to be flexible and make changes on the fly.
Adaptability is therefore another Success-Key ingredients to consider. Having created your plan and defined your Mission statement does not mean that that is the only road to travel-apply flexibility where and when it is appropriate.
