Entrepreneurship|Even though we may be caught in an uncertain economy entrepreneurship is definitely alive and well and flourishing.
New business start-ups are surging and more and more individuals are heading down the road of self-employment and entrepreneurship. Our own readership here at Quick-Facts continues to grow and is a sure testament to the entrepreneurial spirit which continues to grow.
We are often asked about launching a new venture at a time when there is uncertainty in the local, regional or even national economy. Many would-be business owners might see this as a clear indication that the time is not right. On the other hand, a true entrepreneur will realize that this is probably the best time and the best circumstances under which to launch a new business.
As we have discussed many times a new business does not happen overnight it is created over a period of time with diligent planning. Conducting that planning process in a time when the economy is perhaps not as buoyant as we would like makes considerable sense as it means once the planning process is complete and the business is ready to launch there is a strong probability that the economy may be on the turn and therefore the new venture will catch the upswing in the economy.
Timing in the start-up of a business is important however, a prudent business person will realize that there are solid opportunities in both a down and an up economy and it is the smart entrepreneur that knows how to take advantage of that situation. Once again getting a new business started is all about planning and creating the framework of the business before the launch.
Entrepreneurs can really benefit from the substantial amount of information that is readily available to them in this electronic age to help them get started and create a solid foundation.
